These are the wiki guidelines. These guidelines must be followed, and not following these guidelines could lead you up to consequences that depend on what guideline you break. Please at least read the text in bold before editing any pages or creating any pages. These guidelines do not apply to forum posts, blog posts, or chat messages, unless otherwise specified.

General Editing Guidelines

Do not vandalize! Vandalism is the act of creating a mess on the wiki, usually with inappropriate content. Clearing a page, inserting off topic or obviously false information, distorting a page and spamming on a page are some of the many actions that are considered malicious. Vandalism will only get you in trouble, usually by being banned. If there is constant vandalism, pages will be locked temporarily.

Use proper grammar and spelling. Canadian / British / Australian grammar is preferred. Now this can be let go of if the mistake is minor or by accident and it should be corrected if you see any mistakes that you recognize. If you are not sure you have used correct spelling or grammar, check by using online tools. Also make sure to proofread.

Use punctuation and capitalization. Punctuation and capitalization are important for helping people understand what you are trying to share. Make sure you capitalize every starting letter of a starting word of a sentence, and not forget about commas and periods. This is excusable if it is a caption of an image.

Third person words. Always use third person words like, "player". Avoid using words like "you", and remember to use "the player" if you are describing an action someone does.

Centre images. It is preferred to have centered images if they are in a table.

Use the templates provided. There are templates provided, like Template:Heading and Template:Infopage. You will have to edit things yourself so check the sources of other pages for reference. If you are editing an infopage, check what rows the thing you are editing has.

No inappropriate content! This includes content not only on pages, but on blog posts, forum posts, images and the chat. Foul language, vulgar words and adult content are strictly forbidden. Profanity is also considered as inappropriate content. Please make this wiki clean for everyone!

Creating Pages

Add a page only when it is necessary! Only locations, notable teams or characters, items, types and tools like the RTD, should have a page. At least a section of the article must be unique to Pokémon Brick Bronze. Otherwise, don't create a page.

  • Standalone articles for each Pokémon are not allowed for now because the contents inside can hardly be unique to Pokémon Brick Bronze other than the encountering method. Refer to Bulbapedia or Serebii.net for details of Pokémon species.
  • If you want to create a guide, use the blog post feature. All users have their own user blog accessible from their user page.
  • If you wish to create a trade request, head over to Traders' Board on the forum.

Categorize pages. Pages should be categorized in their correct category. Check the category to see what pages are in it before adding a page to a category.

Check other pages for reference. This helps a lot if you are new. It is recommended to check other pages to see how they are laid out before creating a page.

  • Try to at least have a skeleton when creating pages, for example, have most of them required sections prepared.
  • It is allowed if the images or rarity information cannot be filled out until later on, but if the article only has a few sentences, they shall be discarded.
  • Writing "work in progress" or "please help out" in the body of articles is not allowed. Keep those to comments or edit summary.

Make the title being mentioned bold. If the title of a page is being mentioned for the first time, make it bold. Here is an example: "'''Mitis Town''' is the town where players begin their Pokémon adventure." This will make Mitis Town bold.

Do not copy information from other wikis, WORD FOR WORD! Basically, don't plagarize. Original words are better and besides, people could just go to other wikis if they wanted the copied information. Please include information that relate to the game more.

Extra Guidelines

  • Use é (alt+0233 on Windows) when you are using Pokémon, Poké Ball or Flabébé.
    • When creating articles with the title containing "é", please also create a redirect link, so that it will be easier to search. For example, the page Poké Ball Emporium requires a redirect link of Poke Ball Emporium.

Rarity Guide

For each 200 encounters, if a Pokémon appears:

  • More than 80 times (>40%): Label it as Common
  • 41-80 times (21-40%): Label it as Uncommon
  • 21-40 times (6-20%): Label it as Rare
  • 10 times or below (<=5%): Label it as Very Rare

As for special encounters which only provide one chance for battle, such as Mythical Pokémon Jirachi, label them as One Only. Some Pokémon only appear during the day or at night, please attach "<br>Daytime Only" or "<br>Overnight Only" respectively.

There are also a few Pokémon which have their exact encounter rates confirmed by the main developers. The exact encounter rates are listed in red directly below the rarity level. Please do not change the them unless the developers announced that those encounter rates have been modified.

Image Guide

All images should relate to Pokémon Brick Bronze, unless they are only used in user pages or blogs, such as profile pictures. Inappropriate contents, such as foul language, vulgar words and adult content are strictly forbidden.

Pokémon sprites

Front sprites

Front sprites are the sprites used in the Pokémon summary screen or as opponent's Pokémon. They are required to be in a .gif format. The file names should be in the format of "(Pokémon)-(Gender)-(Form)-(Shiny)_(Suffix).gif". Suffix must be one of the following, depending on which game the Pokémon (or the form) is introduced:

  • Pokémon X and Y: _XY
  • Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire: _ORAS
  • Pokémon Sun and Moon: _SM

The game mostly uses X and Y sprites, but some Mega Evolution or Primal Reversion forms use OR/AS sprites. Alola Pokémon and some forms introduced recently use Sun and Moon sprites. Here are some examples and comparisons:

  • Charizard_XY.gif / Charizard-MegaX_XY.gif / Charizard-MegaY_XY.gif
  • Pikachu-M_XY.gif / Pikachu-F_XY.gif
  • Raichu-M-Kanto-Shiny_XY.gif / Raichu-F-Kanto-Shiny.gif
  • Shellos-West_XY.gif / Shellos-East_XY.gif
  • Gengar-Mega_XY.gif / Gengar-Mega-Shiny_XY.gif
  • Sceptile-Mega_ORAS.gif
  • Groudon-Primal_ORAS.gif
  • Kyogre-Primal_ORAS.gif
  • Ninetales-Kanto_XY.gif / Ninetales-Alola_SM.gif
  • Zygarde-10%_SM.gif / Zygarde-50%_XY.gif / Zygarde-Complete_SM.gif
  • Ash-Greninja is a special case, where its file name is "Ash-Greninja_SM.gif".

Back sprites

Back sprites are the sprites of player's and partner's Pokémon when sent into battle. On PBB Wikia, they are only used for partner's Pokémon, such as showing Rivals Jake and Tess' Pokémon when battled alongside on Route 8 and in Anthian Sewer.

These sprites should also come in .gif format. The file names are similar to front sprites, but add "-back" before the suffix, such that it will be "(Pokémon)-(Gender)-(Form)-(Shiny)-back_(Suffix).gif", e.g. "Gabite-M-back_XY.gif".

Menu sprites

Menu sprites are those shown in Pokémon menu screen. On PBB Wikia, they are used in the templates. They should all come in 40px and .png format, and their file names should be "(Pokemon) Menu Sprite.png", e.g. "Delphox Menu Sprite.png".

Location images

Images of locations must be in a .png format and must not include the players themselves, the players' list on top right corner and Menu / RTD / Ro-Power buttons on the left. Having them in 1280x720px, or 16:9 format is the best, but this isn't mandatory.

Discussion Rules

The following rules are enforced in blog posts, article comments and the forum.
